Cesal officially launches its 2021-2022 lease extension and renewal campaign!
Want to keep your apartment to enjoy summer on campus? Want to renew your contract to keep your housing for next year? Whatever the reason, we will explain how to do it!
What is the difference between a lease extension and a renewal?
An extension will allow you to keep your apartment this summer (until August 13, 2021 maximum), while a renewal will allow you to stay in your apartment this summer and during the next academic year (ideal if you planned to stay on the campus next year).
Why extend/renew your lease?
When assigning housing during the back-to-school period, Césal cannot guarantee a specific place for each tenant. Therefore, if you wish to keep your current housing during this summer and/or the next academic year, we suggest that you extend or renew your lease.
What are the specific requirements for extending/renewing a lease?
- All tenants in a single-family apartment are eligible.
- Tenants in a shared flat are conditionally eligible:
- All the tenants of the flatshare agree to remain unchanged during the period.
- No extensions and no renewal will be accepted in Résidence II.
The rental management office reserves the right to accept or deny any application.
Applications made before June 4, 2021 (inclusive) will be considered only. Applications submitted after this date will not be processed by the rental management.
How do I extend/renew my lease?
Depending on the type of change you wish to make (extension or renewal), the way to proceed will differ:

Extending your lease
The maximum departure date for an extension is August 13, 2021. Depending on the number of requests, the end of lease dates may be spread out between August 9 and 13. We also invite you to your send your notice of departure and make an appointment for your exit inventory as soon as your request has been accepted by the rental management service.
To extend your lease this summer, please send the email bellow filled with your information to email@example.com (extension request emails sent to firstname.lastname@example.org will not be processed):
Your application will then be studied, and our teams will update your rental on your client space.
Please note: Don't forget to update/extend your home insurance!
Finally, if your application is accepted, we will give you an appointment to sign the contract amendment. Do not worry, this can also be signed remotely if needed.
Renewing of your lease
In case of renewal, the tenant agree to pay the rent due during the summer vacations, even if he/she is not present.
To renew your lease, please send the email bellow filled with your information to email@example.com (renewal request emails sent to firstname.lastname@example.org will not be processed):
Your application will then be studied, and our teams will create a new reservation on your client space.
Please note: A new reservation does not guarantee that your request will be accepted but is created as an indication!
From then on, we will ask you to go on your client space an submit the missing documents within 72 hours (guarantor documents, proof of residence, proof of schooling, insurance…), otherwise, your reservation will be cancelled.
Finally, if your application is accepted, we will give you an appointment to sign your new contract. Do not worry, this can also be signed remotely if needed.
