Who may stay at Césal ?

We provide accommodation for École CentraleSupélec students first and foremost, but not exclusively. Residence Césal is located right onto the campus CentraleSupélec, 200 meters away from the School.

During admission examination of the School, applicants may stay at residence Césal for a short stay, charged according to the number of nights you stay.


How to book a room ?

The regular way to book a room at residence Césal is to login on, then select the room you want. If you do not have an account, please contact us via the contact page so we can create your account.
Afterwards you need to build your case and send it by mail with all the requested documents at:

What happens during the day I arrive at Césal ?

The day you arrive at Césal, we are here to welcome you. First of all, you will be greeted by the administration department to check your registration form, for example if there were any missing documents. Then you can go straight to your room where a Césal staff will be waiting for you in order to conduct check-in inventory with you. After that, you will receive your key and will be able to settle down in your room.

If you cannot be at the residence that day, you can request a proxy so a person of your choice will be here on your behalf.

What is included in my room ?

Each room features a bed, a closet and a desk. Bedding only includes single mattress and drawsheet. Please notice that you need to bring your own pillow, bed sheets and blankets.

How to come at Césal ?

Public transport:

The campus is served by the bus 91.06 (B or C only) and the bus 9, at the bus stop Joliot-Curie:

  • The bus 91.06 links the campus to the train line RER B and RER C at the station Massy-Palaiseau.
  • The bus 9 links the campus to the train line RER B at the station Le Guichet.


The campus is served by route N118 at exit 9 (Centre universitaire – Le Guichet, Gif-sur-Yvette).

Free parking lot on the campus. You can rent a personal spot in an underground parking (under residence IV) for 15€ per month.

Secured bike park on the campus.


What is included in monthly rent ?

The rent you pay every months includes:

  • The main rent, based on the usable area of your room, including fare for using the furniture.
  • Apportionable service charges: they include energy costs (water, electricity, heating) and depend of the usable surface of the room. Service charges also include maintenance costs.
  • Service fees: because Césal is a student residence, it provides specific services: security service 7d/7 24h/24, psychologist, reception with distribution of parcels, access to common areas (Agora), management of the residence.

What if I need help ? In case of an emergency ?

Césal staff is always here to help you out, whether you have a leaking tap, a lost key and so on.

When you need, you can place an order of repair on (section "Intervention").

In case of an emergency, you can call the security service anytime ; dial 06 69 94 10 88. When indicating the emergency need, be sure to precise the exact place where it is happening: residence, building, level, room. This phone number does not replace regular emergency services: for an ambulance, dial 15 ; for the police, dial 17 ; for the fire department, dial 18. Dial 112 for European emergency service.

Can I bring my own furniture ?

We provide furnished accommodation only, meaning they are equipped with a least a bed, a desk and a closet.

You still have the ability to bring your own furniture if you want, such as an armchair or a coffee table for example. When leaving the residence, you will have to bring back the pieces of furniture you brought.

Please notice that you are not allowed to add heavy household appliance.


I do not understand why CAF is asking me to give back an amount of money.

Remember if you where granted APL, CAF directly pays to us the amount of your housing assistance, reducing the rent you pay at your expense. When leaving residence Césal, we may have received to much amount of assistance from CAF. We give back this overpayment directly to CAF, so you should not worry about any mail from CAF ordering you to give back any overpayment.

How should I prepare my departure ?

Before leaving your room you have to write us a letter (and give it to us at the administration) mentioning the date of your departure. Please note that you have to consider informing us one month in advance. Then you have to make an appointment with Césal for check-out inventory. Following the check-out inventory, you give back the key. If you cannot be here for check-out inventory, you can order a proxy.

What happens to the security deposit ?

When staying at Césal, you pay a security deposit while arriving. We give you back this amount within the 2 months following your departure date, if the check-in and check-out inventories match (meaning you did not damage or dirty your room during your stay, considering natural wear though). Depending of this observation, we may fully or partially keep the security deposit for repairing the damage you caused in your room. Notice that this situation will not occur if you take good care of your room. All you need to do is :

  • use equipment correctly ;
  • clean bathrooom to prevent scale from forming ;
  • defrost and clean fridge ;
  • clean floor and surfaces to prevent dust from accumulating ;
  • ventilate room regularly.
